Dostoevsky’s psychological portrait of Raskolnikov is one of the most intense reading experiences I have had. The novel is less about the crime and far more about the unbearable weight of guilt and the slow unraveling of a brilliant but arrogant mind. It is a book that stays with you long after you finish it — a reminder that no theory, however elegant, can override one’s conscience.
